The altcoin market is often criticized for lacking true differentiation. For these coins to gain legitimacy and long-term value, they need to bring innovative solutions to the blockchain ecosystem. One of the key areas for improvement is scalability. Coins that focus on innovative sharding techniques, layer-2 solutions, or new consensus mechanisms like Proof of Stake (PoS) or Proof of Authority (PoA) will likely have the greatest chance to disrupt the market and become more than just another “copycat” cryptocurrency.
