On the southern edge of the Swabian Alb is the country's most picturesque karst spring. The funnel-shaped lake glows an unreal turquoise-blue. Scientists say it's all in the optics. Legend has it that a vat of paint is poured into the lake every night. But that's not all. According to local legends, the beautiful Lau lives at the bottom of the lake - a water woman exiled from the Black Sea for her gloomy disposition.
