Here’s something to chew on: if we only communicated through visuals, language would probably get way more structured, almost like diagrams. Think about syntax trees or math symbols, those layouts make things clearer and cut down on confusion fast. But there’s a catch. Written words do more than just spell things out. They carry tone, play with metaphors, and pack in bits of culture. Diagrams can’t really handle that. Sure, a totally visual language gets you precision, but it risks missing the emotional punch, the stuff that makes our conversations feel real and human.
If language were purely visual, it might become more precise and structured like diagrams, but it could lose the emotional depth and cultural nuance that written words carry.
