Need opinion on something: Grants for integrating and making bioinformatics software more user-friendly, available for free. I'm talking about something like Galaxy cloud compute, but 1000 times more user-friendly.

TIL that James Watson and Francis Crick were called WC (water closet) because the biochemists hated them since they did not carry out any original experiments to discover the structure of DNA and instead relied on data from other researchers. Lol, they were the actual underdogs in the race to discover the structure and in the end emerged victorious. That’s beautiful.

Whenever I tell someone I study biotech, their response is either, “Oh that's cool, so how can we live forever?” or “Oh, so you're going to be unemployed for the rest of your life.” Mostly, there’s no in between.

Maybe this is a naive question and somewhat niche specific, but lately, I’ve been learning about CROs and Cloud Labs in biotech. I want to know if these concepts will be replicated in DeSci with a Web3 touch similar to how cloud centers have been labeled as DePIN with a Web3 element. Also, will DeSci create new markets that weren’t possible before? If so, what kinds of new markets could emerge?

If there were a Kardashev scale equivalent metric in biology and pharmacology, one of the main metrics should be the ability of a civilization to cure the common cold.
