it’s hard for me to understand this point of view as a bitcoiner. we already had this battle and the side of the fork that sacrificed network fundamentals (verifiability, decentralization) in order to prioritize the business model of startups was relegated to the dustbin of history (remembered as “Bitcoin Cash”). but i think this is a harder question for other chains because they aren’t competing to be the “Phial of Galadriel” and instead need to strike a balance between UX and decentralization for smart contracting. i don’t have the answer but it will likely be different for every chain and speaks to its fundamental nature.

i was there for the blocksize wars btc side was also able to sell the story of BTC the store of value and not the 'payment rail' medium of exchange you can't simultanously be the world computer and have inaccessible compute the world won't be able to run its compute on you simple as that
