I used to hate commission work. It always felt “rigid” to me, and I was never completely free to let my creativity go. “Yo bro can you make it pop a bit more?” — “the logo is too big, make it smaller” — “can we put the photo of my grandma in it?” — and so on. but lately it has been the only real stimmy for me. maybe because I finally feel like my creativity is valued and appreciated, maybe because I have better people asking for it, or maybe because I just changed. Reality is: I’m closing in my 5th year of daily artworks. that means I’ve almost devoted 1825 days (believe me, it’s a lot to time) of my life to creation and expressing myself, freely: It never worked out. During my crypto/NFT journey, I’ve minted some of them here and there, and sold ‘em for ~2.5 $ETH in total. cool, I’m thankful, but again: it never worked out. It’s strange how I found this sense of creative appreciation and value in something that I’ve been hating all my life. It’s strange that I’m still doing my daily artworks regardless of them being a cost instead of a profit. It’s strange that people /mainly/ go in only if there’s something in for them too.
