I was at a gas station when a man ahead of me, visibly frustrated, was trying to get his card to work at the pump. He tried three times and couldn’t get it to go through. Without thinking, I tapped him on the shoulder and said, “If you’re in a hurry, I can take my turn and you can use mine.” He paused, smiled, and said, “Thanks, I needed that kind of kindness today.”
