Someone recently asked me why I prefer free diving over scuba. There are practical reasons (less gear) but the main reason is that animals respond better when I’m holding my breath with them. I took this photo in the Bahamas, miles from land, alongside a wild dolphin that swam with me and rose to the surface when I did. Moments like these are surreal.
