Grace Devotional Friday, 9th May 2025 Topic: PURPOSE AND ABUSE Text: 1 Peter 5:1-4 Memory verse: “Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;” I Peter 5:2 NKJV Rick Warren once said, “A life without purpose is like a ship without a rudder.” Purpose gives direction in life (Jer 29:11). Purpose is the original intent or design of a thing. It answers the question of why a thing was made. To know the purpose of a thing, it’s important to go to the Creator. God is the source of all things. He created all things through Jesus Christ (John 1:3; Col 1:16).
