as a photographer, losing contrast sensitivity is the second most devastating side effect of LASIK i’ve had to deal with since 2012. i remember crying when i realized that a decade went by without knowing that the photographs im editing as per what i see are not what you all see.

pleaseeee don’t get LASIK done unless it’s crucial for your eye safety somehow. there’s just so many things that could go wrong. just wear your damn glasses or lenses. it’s even cool to be a nerd these days.

o boy. losing both my vision bc of irreversible distortion of corneas would be the first. the right one went first, then the left followed 8 years later.
