The Prophet (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of silence and focus during the sermon:
"If you say to your companion, 'Listen,' on a Friday while the Imam is delivering the Khutbah, you have engaged in idle talk (and lost the reward of the prayer)." (Sahih Bukhari)
