Well, I did not have this on my bingo card for 2023 but I can’t tell you how relieved I am. Curious what the rest of #design thinks of this announcement. https://www.theverge.com/2023/12/18/24005996/adobe-figma-acquisition-abandoned-termination-fee

I'm still not sure if this will help Figma in any way! I was hoping that with this collaboration, Figma would become the ultimate web tool with all of the capabilities of Illustrator and Photoshop (if not a single app, atleast a seamless integration between them).

Also Adobe was way ahead in AI, and Figma could have used their resources to accelerate progress toward native AI integration. Now, I believe Figma will remain a tool for creating UIs and will not evolve into a tool for everyone; instead, they will do something like Framer, where you can publish designs to sites/app.

I don’t know if that would have ever happened tbh. I love to dream but I feel like Adobe would get greedy and strip Figma for parts to enhance what they already have vs start a stronger integration.
