Why I'm obsessed with data (and you should be too) Let me show you why this matters with a recent example... I saw headlines screaming "Ethereum hits ATH 24,192 TPS!" > My first thought: "Wait, did @ethereum make some massive upgrade I missed?" > Current avg TPS is around 4,833. That's a HUGE jump from what we had prev. as avg TPS like 200-300 TPS So I did what you should always do: I dug into the data. Turns out, the spike came from ONE L2 network: @Lighter_xyz contributing 4,000+ TPS alone. > For context, @base (a major L2) does 100-200 TPS. @Lighter_xyz is doing 20x that. When you look at the charts, only Lighter is driving this spike. Remove it, and we're back to normal levels. This is exactly why data matters: > Headlines give you the "what" > Data gives you the "why" and "how" Before celebrating (or panicking) about any metric, ask: > What's driving this number? > Is it sustainable or a one time spike? > Who/what is contributing the most?
