I too am sad to see Farcaster move in this direction. I'd be happy with a scheme that allows preserving anonymity, yet too expensive for spammers. Take a look at /passport; they have tried hard to integrate many verification methods yet to preserve privacy-protecting paths along the way. https://passport.human.tech/
