A great case study of this is Fernando Tatis Jr. and Luis Arraez. Arraez has won the last three batting titles and Tatis has one his lowest batting averages of his career this year (though he’s increased it lately). But when you put them head to head, it’s easy to see how much more valuable Tatis has been. Even by just looking at obp, Tatis is significantly more valuable.
