Gavin is introduced to Vitalik and goes on to build Ethereum
- Gavin is introduced to Vitalik through a connection in the Bitcoin development community in 2013. Corresponding with a Bitcoin dev via email set off a chain of events that led to building a network, ultimately connecting him with Vitalik Buterin and leading to Ethereum’s development.
- He teamed up with the other Ethereum Founders (Mihai Alisie, Anthony Di Iorio, Amir Chetrit, Charles Hoskinson, Joseph Lubin, Jeffrey Wilcke) and became the first CTO of the Ethereum Foundation.
- Coined the term "Web3" in 2014.
- Created Solidity, specifically made for implementing smart contracts on blockchains and now a dominant programming language in the industry.
