Over the last few days, the number of daily top-level casts has exceeded the number of replies for the first time ever

We all knew the Rewards Leaderboard would drive behavior changes. It’s nice to see the data support that theory. 

I think this means it’s a good time to be a genuine and authentic reply guy. When engagement on most posts goes down, good comments will shine through the noise.

I think that it is more complex under the surface.
Yes, rewards seems to have effect on the mix of casting, replying and liking (I will shorten this to CRL), but mainly for casters with spam label 0.
Besides that, there's also an extra effect: after the huge increase in ETH-price appreciation, namely from 11 May. This also changes the CRL-mix of spam label 0.
Before general available rewards, the CRL-mix was more stable for spam label 0.

The CRL-mix of spam label 2 is still stable, and changes gradual overtime (if you look very well).

Only after the ETH-price appreciation, the amount of engagement changes, both spam label 0 and 2. This result in relative higher percentage of label 0 cast, and a relative higher percentage of label 2 replies.

So, both Rewards as market circumstances change casting behaviour, but spam label 0 is more opportunistic.

Still wandering how long Rewards will stay. It only change spam label 0 behaviour in the mix between casts, likes and replies. No effect on spam label 2 behaviour. The number of engagement seems only to be driven by crypto market circumstances.

Maybe, active FIDs will rise over time, but hardly to tell at this moment. Would like to see more evidence for that on the monthly charts.

The pro fundraiser just added $1m to the rewards pool so I think it will last a while.

Of course, I forgot about that. With $1.2 they have enough for 60 weeks, probably more at that time.

And hopefully MM keeps kicking in their part so it can be extended or expanded to include more folks.

Did they say anything about that? I had also been thinking about it: are they going to increase the Rewards, are pros going to pay 'instead of' MM, or something in between? There isn't a public known end date for Rewards, so if are going to say that they extend it, it should be checkable at front, otherwise it's more difficult to justify afterwards that it has been extended. They will have to be able to justify it some day for the sake of PR.
