a bit of a different approach (no dilution) but CZ had a similar idea of gradual unlocks over time to align founder incentives long-term

Needs to be clearly disclosed and probably carefully managed by the deployment platform to protect users from blatant rug pulls. 

For example, I can imagine a setting that allows dilution contingent on a market buy at x% above current MC, or with the consent of x% of token holders.

How do you think this would work in practice?  And how do you think about the communication around this both at the start and around the increase in supply?

Companies do this, by issuing more shares.

So, it makes sense, but it's also hard when there is no tangible relationship between project value and token valuation.

The next evolution of product coins will charge > 1% trading fees. It will be a revenue source for teams and a progressive token treasury tool for fundraising / airdrops / lp incentives / etc.

but you are getting supply through fees, why dillute?

why not the fees revenue? very sustainable longterm

A capped supply is always better. More supply less value. Make it scarce and valuable.
