Being able to link another social and recommend followings based on my existing networks would be good. Most social apps do this to avoid the cold start problem

Don’t want to be pessimistic, but having fought bots in games some years ago, when they were even less sophisticated, these measures cost nothing and are going to give you a false sense of security

I think I would immediately stop using Warpcast if I knew I was the only human using it and everything else was bots

@kartik few suggestions for eSIM improvements: - ability to top up (have too many eSIMs now) - send me notification when 70% usage and 100% usage - subscription to auto-top up (probably hard, if so having the CTA as part of the notification is good enough)

I think you are misunderstanding my proposal: - Keep Farcaster as is - Deploy a *cheap* snapchain where new accounts can cast for free - Clients shows both, but distinguishes on-chain users vs trial users - Users can go from Freecaster to Farcaster by creating account and anyone can pay the for them (like tipping)

Aligned with what I proposed! Users you are referring to are currently *not* users at all, so no loss of sovereignty here. If they try the app and want full sovereignty, they pay or have someone sponsor their account creation Promise still held and current users are not affected

I meant to say to redeploy your entire stack (snapchain and all) but treat it like a test env, where guarantees are weak (e.g. casts don't persist long). This way you can operate it very cheaply (free for users) and you have a shared state different clients can use

But you don’t care about that other chain, it’s basically a testnet. Testnets don’t die so easily. Enough for shared state, but poor guarantees. Eg. Purge 3 months old casts from trial accounts

Redeploy your existing stack as a cheap L2 or L3 with poor guarantees

If you want good accounts to get on-chain for free, make it so that if you pay for someone’s Farcaster account, you get a % of their earnings. You can cap it to be enough to cover fee + a small bonus

It’s okay imo because only ~5% of these trial accounts will actually generate okay content. Then people can just sponsor this 5% instead of the whole 100%, a 95% cost saving. People already tipping a lot, they will 100% love becoming the patron of good trial accounts

Have you tried 4.5 for the creative part, after o3 did all the lay ground?

What about counterfactual accounts only living in Warpcast? It’s an account like any other, but it’s not yet onchain. You can pay later and commit your entire account on-chain then. Add perks down the funnel for going on-chain to those who don’t churn on this « trial » or have someone sponsor altogether

Have you tested whether app and users want to pay to onboard people? E.g. let me send my friends an invite link where the account creation fee is already paid for Sure I can send them USDC, but then they need to install metamask, learn about gas, no thanks

Twin goals of EF: 1. Usage of Ethereum - but usage of a type where users are actually benefiting from Ethereum's underlying properties 2. Resilience and decentralization of Ethereum - viewed holistically, focused on addressing points of weakness anywhere in the stack
