so the way I see it: the "trenches" are a game with real opportunities. Most “regular traders” will lose. Some will quit, some will get better, some will get so good that they make generational wealth from the trenches and retire. The solana trenches have done a good job of providing a "solution" to growing financial nihilism. I don't think see it as bad that most can't win. I don't see it as right or wrong, it just is. base is interesting because you see flashes of tradfi investing philosophies. Real projects, doxxed builders, more stable charts. The longer some of these base projects survive and thrive, it'll attract new participants (which is ultimately the real goal) in my eyes, why can't base do both? Build amazing trench conditions for pure speculators/traders, while continuing to foster an environment for long term builders. We saw some flashes of this last fall with base memes receiving parabolic moves ($SKI, $DOGINME) That's when the "base is for everyone" vision makes the most sense to me.

tbh I think part of it is just that there are less eyes on new Base launches (both memes and projects) vs. Solana where people scan on memescope / pumpvision / pulse all day

Totally agree. Base’s mix of solid projects and trader-friendly conditions creates a unique space where both builders and speculators can thrive. If they keep this balance, it could really grow into something special.
