A petition to @dwr.eth @v @woj and the rest of the Farcaster team to enable us to remove followers from our accounts 🙏🏼 Why is this important? The Farcaster Rewards algorithm prioritizes accounts with less followers who are more active. As a result, accounts with larger but inactive followings don’t receive good scores and suffer the consequences X allows people to remove followers from accounts and I don’t see a reason why Farcaster cannot do the same

I agree with you this buddy. We are trying our best, but we not receiving the good score. We are posting daily but still didn’t get boost pump 1/2% boost increase max. every day we get I guess . And big accounts they are not casting way too much but they are still getting high score. I don’t know how. Btw broski do you know how to report a user related leaderboard farming? Because I meet somebody he messaging me every time on my cast and now he is on my DM for engage with my cast boosting type of shit they are talking and they are literally farming the farcaster not using this space for the community and information they are using the space for money only and tips. so they don’t deserve that place, honestly how can I report them? Do you know and he’s literally really annoying too frfr

I think this also works the same with Twitter algo The more your followers engage with you, the more the algo pushes your content. But if they’re just dead followers, the algo sees you less.. it’s just like a snowball effect It’s a really good idea if it can be implemented fr

Removing followers breaks how the protocol works, not sure how it would practically be achieved. It’s the equivalent of forcing someone to stop pointing at you. They’re not touching you, it’s their own action, you can only not point back or just ignore it. Clients like Farcaster (formally Warpcast) have their own layer to handling muting and stuff, but this is part of having a permissionless network.

@pichi said that followers are going down becouse they have level spam 0 and the algorithm hides them. So, they shouldnt count as followers, right?

TIL. That makes a lot of sense. What about an option to auto-remove followers inactive for 30+ days? Keeps things clean and puts less manual burden on creators.
