The environmental effects of the fashion industry—landfills, contaminated waterways, and subpar industrial conditions—were made public by a friend's post about a documentary. I was shocked to learn that my buying habits were a factor. My adventure into conscious fashion began when I began looking through charity stores and discovered distinctive, eco-friendly items.
