Reports of hacks or vulnerabilities complicate airdrop decisions. While participating in such projects might seem opportunistic, the risk is high. Some teams exclude compromised addresses or delay distributions after security breaches. Furthermore, projects with repeated vulnerabilities risk losing long-term credibility, making claimed rewards less valuable. The safer strategy is to evaluate the project’s incident response: if issues are transparently resolved and backed by audits, participation may remain worthwhile. Otherwise, abstaining reduces the chance of associating with blacklisted addresses or worthless tokens. Risk management in these cases outweighs speculative short-term gains from uncertain airdrops.
