Shared sequencers allow multiple rollups to coordinate block production, reducing fragmentation and improving interoperability. This setup enhances cross-rollup composability, making rollup UX more seamless. However, shared sequencers concentrate risk—if compromised, many rollups suffer. Success depends on decentralization, fair MEV distribution, and adoption by major rollups. If solved, shared sequencers could accelerate rollup scaling while making the ecosystem feel unified. If not, fragmented UX will persist, limiting mainstream adoption.
