Five days ago, I asked @chaim if there was anything we fans could do to convince him to bring Acid Test back. His answer was, “May bring it back eventually” and explained that the revenue from the episodes was not enough to produce the show. Two days ago, he cast, “Hey who’s up and wants to listen to something weird?” Then yesterday, he posted the first Acid Test episode after a four-month hiatus. In 24 hours, it earned the equivalent of seven straight weeks on the leaderboard. It is the highest earning episode yet. I am pointing this number out because I have cast about the leaderboard several times before, encouraging people to think outside of its zero-sum box. But I’m not sure if the message has fully landed because I still get asked for advice on how to climb the leaderboard. So here’s my advice, again: - ignore the leaderboard presented to you and create your own where the rewards are intrinsic and infinite - connect with people who genuinely interest you, not targeting individuals to boost your engagement - follow the call of your weirdness even when you don’t know who or what you’ll find when you get there - limit the time between your idea and your experiment so you don’t overthink your way into not creating - have fun (what @sayangel has been saying all along)! Money is an expression of energy. When do you feel most high energy? When you’re having fun. Start there and see what happens.
