Watching The Godfather for the first time. I just got home, and apparently if I have any hope of sleeping before midnight, I need to start this movie *right now*. Pardon my rudeness if I’m leaving any notifications hanging. I have a friend who, for the last two years, has asked me every single time we meet if I’ve seen it. Tonight, I’m finally ending the bit and live casting here as proof of watch.

On the way home, I picked up lasagna and a cannoli at a local hole-in-the-wall Italian place. I haven’t had a cannoli in forever. I asked ChatGPT if this movie would make me crave any particular food (without giving away any spoilers), and this was the answer.

Okay wow I finally understand the horse head reference. One of my roommates in college stole an animal head from the art department, tucked it into my bed, and looked extremely disappointed when I didn’t get it. I’m laughing… 14 years later.

Made it to the end. The baptism scene was incredible. I understand now why this movie is so iconic. Power. Family. Legacy. Money. Morality. Corruption. Also, young Al Pacino.

I read The Godfather for the first time in secondary school and went on to read all Mario Puzo's books that I could find 😅 I haven't watched the movie because I'm scared it won't do the novel justice.
