Great line from a recent podcast interview with @balajis.eth: “Individually alpha is collectively beta.”
He describes how designing for cooperative, positive-sum behavior in Internet-first communities is hard. It got me thinking that first defining the community itself might also be a challenge.
Is Farcaster one community that should have shared norms at a high level? Or is it simply a neutral gathering place of many different communities, each bringing their own norms?
I’m curious what you all think because I’ve seen it described both ways here. The distinction sets up very different expectations.
