Really disappointed by some VCs who bought $DEGEN early, acted supportive, then dumped on the community with zero warning, no integrity or long-term thinking. Grateful we live in an era where launching your own token is an easy way to bootstrap (without VCs). Shoutout 1confirmation, one of the few that truly gets it.

Degen is building one of the strongest franchises in crypto. You can copy our ideas — it won’t matter — because you’re not us. People don’t go to McDonald’s for the best burger, or use Windows for the best OS. They go because of trust, consistency, and brand. Same with Degen. We don’t need the “best” Farcaster client — we’re building something bigger: belief, culture, and identity. Products can be cloned. Conviction can’t. That’s why when people ask what’s unique about our client, I shrug. It’s the Degen client. Like Snickers — maybe not the rarest bar, but it’s the one. You’ll walk past five knockoffs just to get it. That’s the power of a real brand.

Not financial advice—but at some point, there will be another bull market. When? Nobody knows. Could be this year, could be 2, 3, or even 10 years from now. What matters is surviving and building in the meantime. Degen will be ready: listings on major exchanges, a great app, available across chains, our own blockchain, and a strong community. We just need to keep showing up. Honestly, in this macro climate, a real bull market might not come for years—and that’s fine. I’m here for the long game. We have the budget, the conviction, and the builders to stick around. Keep building. Degen on.

Quick Degen app update 👇 After many conversations with you, two things keep coming up: phone verification and rewards. I agree — we need a rewards system that feels fair and actually helps grow the app. This could mean rewarding you for bringing in others, variations of tip allowances, or even view-based rewards. We are still exploring what makes the most sense. Phone verification has to stay — it’s the only real way to keep rewards meaningful and avoid farming. The vault is too confusing, but simpler systems with clear limits could work better. I know you want to reward people you like and earn too — and we can get there. Big thanks to @yekim.eth for grinding through this idea maze with me. Appreciate all of you—keep the feedback coming 🙏
