Dr No by Percival Everett is a pretty fun riff on the James Bond thing.
Black Wings Has My Angel (great title!) by Elliott Chaze is a solid crime/noir story.
In Jeff VanderMeer’s Absolution, Old Jim is such an excellent character. A real can opener for the whole series.
I’m a voracious, curious, whimsical kind of reader. One of my favorite things is to find a writer I like and then read one of their favorite writers. I also love recommending books to people.

I found a Barbara Kingsolver novel called Lacuna on my walk around the neighborhood today. Great writer! Free little libraries are great for serendipity!
Have you ever completely forgotten you’ve read a book? I started reading The Nix. Seemed pretty familiar. I assumed I’d read the first chapter. Now, 300 pages in, I’m certain I’ve read this whole thing already. Maybe a sign I’ve read too many books? hahaha
