Today: Music!
The cornetto emerged after early antiquity as a well-known instrument, emerging predominantly during the Renaissance period. It’s derived from the antiquated bukkehorn/animal horns and early precursor to brass instruments like the trumpet.
The sound is pleasant and has more of a vocal tone than the brassy blare of its modern manifestations. It’s also one of my favorite non-traditional instruments, next to the alphorn.l
