If you could live forever, without decay, would you?

I think about this a *lot* over the years including all worst-case-scenarios. My answer has never moved from a resilient and unequivocal “absolutely yes.”

Is this something you decided as a child? I’m curious when it started for you

The day my grandpa had to explain dying to me one night babysitting. I don’t know how old I was- 4? 6? 

I just remember crying. 
“I don’t want to die!”

That emotion stuck with me over the years but evolved- as a teenager, it turned into a love of theoretical physics which pushed me harder into math, which made me better at music, which sprung my career in arts, law, and more.

😂 So I guess “never wanting to die” is not just a fear of death for me anymore now, as it’s evolved into an eagerness to see, be a part of, and observe everything forever.

Even if I get stuck in some box at a museum and can only GPT with guests between 8-8.

That would be the most luxurious view of all 😄 one of the reasons I want to bring this topic to the forefront is so people understand they do have options and the more normalized, the more affordable. Health and life span choices should be for everybody.

I’m familiar! Just too broke to explore those kind of things. Longevity is a luxury for now- my main hope is I have enough to open an Alcor trust before my time comes. I think it was 80k a head last I checked (quite literally a head, lol.) 

If I ever have disposable income and I can make sure my family’s all set and my arts charity is all set, excess income would just go to investing and exploring in these things. 

I have some odd views of life and spirituality, probably a mix of my artful life, my love of sciences, and my Methodist-flexible upbringing (I’ve guest visited so many churches lol)

Even if I could only simply drift through space and merely watch the cosmos between bouts of darkness — I’d rather take that in one conscious experience.

They have rejuvenation or replacement or cryogenics for this 😹 Have you watched Pantheon on Netflix? 

You registering it at that age is actually a pretty common thread - your mortality strikes you. Great it motivated you to do so much, I am in the same boat and want to experience all that life has to offer…FOREVER
