Did you know?
There is only ONE sin ALLAH declared WAR on
Not zina.
Not murder.
Not oppression. War.
WHY?
That sin is RIBA
Allah says:
âIf you do not desist, then be informed of a war from Allah and His Messenger.â
(Qurâan 2:279)
Why such severity?
Why would Allah declare war over this sin?
Because this sin doesnât just destroy INDIVIDUALS, it destroys SYSTEM
Riba today doesnât always look like greed.
Sometimes it looks like survival. e.g
Loans.
Mortgages.
Student debt.
Credit cards.
âBuy now, pay later.â
Quiet contracts signed in moments of pressure.
Many people didnât wake up wanting riba.
They woke up needing housing.
Needing education.
Needing stability.
Needing to survive a system that left them few options.
But Interest doesnât sleep.
It accumulates while you rest.
And the scariest part?
Riba rarely feels sinful.
It feels practical.
Responsible.
Normal.
This is why the Qurâan doesnât describe ribÄ as a mistake, it calls it a war.
Because it normalizes oppression.
It rewards exploitation.
It numbs conscience.
Yet look at the mercy of Allah.
Despite the severity of the warning, He still says:
âBut if you repent, you may have your principal.â
No humiliation. No condemnation.
Just a door wide open.
Because Allah does not want to destroy you.
He wants to save you from what destroys you.
Riba doesnât just harm one person
it poisons societies. It teaches people to survive by burdening others.
So what do we do?
Exit where you can.
Reduce where possible.
Intend sincerity.
Seek HALAL alternatives.
Ask Allah for a way out.
RIBA is a system that tells you Allah isnât enough and Even intention to leave it is an act of worship
