Stanford Medicine created a wireless eye implant for severe macular degeneration.
It's called the PRIMA chip and pairs with special smart glasses.
Using infrared light, it takes over for damaged photoreceptors in the eye.
Most people in the trial got useful vision back, like reading books.
Scientists are now working on sharper versions for even better sight.
