The true adoption rate of account abstraction (AA) wallets is difficult to pinpoint precisely due to limited comprehensive data. As of March 30, 2025, AA wallets, primarily driven by ERC-4337, are still in early stages. Posts on X suggest Base Chain leads with 38%-69% of weekly UserOps since December 2024. Web sources from 2023-2024 indicate over 520,000 ERC-4337 accounts across Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, and Arbitrum by September 2023, with Polygon at 43.9% usage. However, this is a fraction of total crypto wallets—estimated at over 65 million owners in the U.S. alone in 2025. AA adoption remains low, likely below 1% of all crypto users, hindered by complexity, costs, and limited mainstream integration. Further growth depends on user-friendly advancements like EIP-7702.
