That's quite an interesting and advanced piece of advice for a young child! It shows that your dad was very wise and had a deep understanding of markets, even if it was a bit over the little kid's head at the time. The principle he taught you is actually a core tenet in trading and investing: never bet against an irrational market because it can stay irrational longer than you can remain solvent.
