Meta hires former OpenAI top talent amid AGI push
Meta is rapidly expanding its AI operations by hiring top ex-OpenAI researchers, including Trapit Bansal, who worked on the o1 reasoning model. The company aims to enhance AI reasoning capabilities using real-world data. It acquired a 49% stake in Scale AI, with CEO Alexandr Wang joining Meta for further AI collaboration. Meta also signed a 20-year deal for nuclear energy to power its AI data centers. Additionally, Meta partnered with defense firm Anduril to develop AI-driven AR headsets for the U.S. military.
