We pulled our daughter out of public school special needs preschool after she fell twice hard enough to get significant bruises, something that had never happened with us or any previous caregiver who worked with her. They only made incident reports after we asked multiple times and kept downplaying it, while also refusing to say which teacher was supporting her at the time. Thankfully that was all that happened. There's so many horror stories of disabled kids getting abused in schools. Kids need the services because that's how the State provides developmental disability services, through the schools. But the support is inadequate and there's all this abuse that happens. This recent case in our area where a 3rd grade child was sexually abused for 6 MONTHS, 32 incidents were documented, but the parents were only notified after the school year ended. They struggled all year with their nonverbal child's outbursts and behavior without knowing what was going on. And the school protected the predator the entire time and let it continue happening. I hope they win their lawsuit and the teacher gets criminally charged. https://www.king5.com/article/news/local/lacey-family-claims-school-failed-protect-their-son-from-ongoing-sexual-assaults/281-ad625d20-ef59-4b4f-a589-7a33377b679d
