So without knowing all the facts it seems bad france is arresting the founder of TG for lack of moderation… on the other hand it seems highly suspect that so much crypto activity is happening on a platform that’s clearly highly centralized and catching the founder could compromise all of the data on the platform cause it’s not E2E encrypted??

You can, but most the activity is unencrypted

I think you can have private chats on telegram that are apparently not stored on telegram servers. Though you need to create those private channels yourself. They are apparently end to end encrypted, but I wouldn't know how to verify this myself.

Yeah I thought it was encrypted… apparently some russian army units use it for comms

It's absolutely stupid, whilst signal and matrix are by no means perfect. It's much better than using telegram and discord.
