You might think it was me slaving away last night, whipping up a batch of Syrniki (cottage cheese pancakes of Slavic descent) for son’s lunch today, but guess what! It was my husband 🤤 It’s pretty nice to have a man who does it all, after a 10 hour day at farcaster. @deodad
My husband and I considered 12 films to watch. We rarely find time for a feature (our son is our main feature film). After sidelining Tarkovsky, Fellini, and others, we decided on 400 Blows, a 1950s coming of age based on the director’s life - aloof parents, mean schoolteachers, and getting into petty crime.
I love Interpreter of Maladies too, so good. I started Trust by Starnone but couldn’t quite get into it. Maybe I’ll try Ties!
Wow I forgot Zadie Smith! Also picked up this, an author Ferrante loves, and it’s wonderful, if you’re into solitary island life. If Proust had been born Italian on an island and had a sense of humor, he might have written it, but Elsa did instead.
