Private computation has 3 main approaches:
FHE compute on encrypted data. Max privacy, no plaintext ever, post-quantum secure, and trustless. Historically slow, but breakthroughs (like Zama’s sub-ms bootstrapping) are making it practical at scale.
MPC splits secrets across parties. Good for threshold sigs & collab, but heavy comms + fragile if too many collude.
TEE hardware enclaves. Fast & dev-friendly, but relies on vendors, exposed to side-channels, and not post-quantum.
The future belongs to FHE and Zama is making it real.
