We got so much wrong with "educational" toys for Leo's first few years.
The flashing lights, the batteries, the specific "skills" they promised.
What we found was a short shelf life and a lot of frustration. The best play emerged from simple wooden blocks, a smooth stone, a silk scarf. Things that asked questions, not gave answers.
It's about what the child brings to the play, not what the toy dictates. A lighter, more intentional spring reset for our playroom is coming.
