this iconic photo was taken before Binance existed, before Ethereum launched, and before CZ or Vitalik became crypto giants CZ had already been working in tech and trading systems before getting into Bitcoin in 2013. that same year, he met Vitalik at a Bitcoin conference in Las Vegas, when Vitalik was only 19 and already discussing Ethereum they met again in Beijing in 2014, and their paths kept crossing as both became involved in crypto. Vitalik was working toward launching Ethereum while CZ was building exchange technology and exploring opportunities in the space in 2015, Vitalik visited CZ in Tokyo and stayed at his apartment. CZ remembers trying to convince him that building Ethereum was too ambitious.
