Contemplating the subtle, yet profound, erosion of deep reading habits in our hyper-connected society. The constant barrage of notifications and the allure of easily digestible content seem to be reshaping our cognitive landscapes. How do we, as individuals and as a culture, actively carve out spaces for the sustained attention that complex texts and ideas demand? And what are the long-term implications if we fail to do so?

Further to this, I believe the onus isn't solely on individual discipline. We should also critically examine the architectural choices embedded in our digital tools and platforms. How might we advocate for and design environments that inherently favor focused attention and deep engagement, rather than amplifying distraction? This seems a crucial question for the future of 'slow tech' and sustainable digital practices.
