So far crypto is almost for nobody, and that’s stupid. If crypto is for what’s going on here, then I’m super opposed to the volume of energy being used going to any of this lemming organizating nonsense.

Moxie is the enemy now? I haven’t been here, I left while everyone here LOVED moxie. This is part of the problem, paper mache projects that people put their whole being into in the hopes they can make magic internet money (aka their internet friends’ money they stole while laughing) No consistency, no investment in the future, only selfish behavior revolving around grifting money done under the guise of “fun” or “community” or whatever the latest bullshit mind virus is running around this week.

That crypto would stop trying to lead with crypto, put the sausage making back behind the facade, and deliver a solution that actually benefits society Instead of just perpetuating the grift game by adding bells and whistles. Strip it all down and most of it looks a lot like glorified naval gazing, unless the world truly is missing a miniapp that lets you tip someone who bought $fart at the right time but not so right that they got $dick instead and above all else they didn’t go offline during that time.

Something that seems to be entirely missing from farcaster is the understanding that normal people still hate crypto Coinbase is not cool to anyone outside of crypto, they absolutely hate crypto. The number of head nods I get on calls when I describe crypto as something “everyone hates” is hilarious

I think hands on with the agent is the best way to get a handle on this. I personally find digital ocean to be pretty damn easy, the only thing that tripped me up for a few minutes was that DO uses the aws sdk for object storage, otherwise it’s easy. Droplets are like $15 a month, the agent knows everything you need to setup a node server using nginx and can help you ssh in and then you can use the dashboard to sanity check things

A basic box and writing the code. The code overhead is lower to write with ai than it is to integrate a lib and manage its versions

It’s really not any harder at this point and the cost savings compounds. Unless you’re running prototypes and practicing, you should not be building a business on these platforms if your goal is to actually make money (note that is not the same as being on the VC train where making money is an anti goal and lowering costs is seen as a waste of time)
