lots of conversations about base over the last week. wanted to share my candid take after a week of listening and a lot of reflection over the last 6 months.
first off - in case it’s not obvious, the first quarter of 2026 was a punch in the face. I spent 2024 and 2025 making a
POPOPO, a Japan-based SNS, has reportedly shut down. Running a new social platform long-term is really tough... Rooting for Farcaster — hope it keeps going strong🙏
Reading this post made me realize I haven’t been keeping up with Farcaster lately, and there have been way more updates than I expected 👀
Snaps seem to have evolved a lot, and I’m really curious to check them out.
If there’s a good place to browse Snaps, or if you have any favorites to recommend, I’d love to hear them 🙌
welcome back shane! here's a little bit of what you missed:
-snaps launched. buttons, sliders, polls, whole little apps living inside casts. there was a snapathon, a snapfest, and at least one snapchella. IRL snap meetups in LA, NYC, and SF. you can now prompt a snap into existence straight from the composer
