Potential reason? To trade off decentralisation/censorship risk/liveness to aim for the highest tps, global permissionless tokenisation of apps, plus composability w Solana & other chains dapps through bridging
Benefits not possible w Facebook apps
In that sense, Solana is like a private permissionless blockchain
