Security + settlement happens on Ethereum mainnet.
Transactions happen on Base (Layer 2)
You send ETH or tokens on Base instead of mainnet.
Gas fees are much lower (fractions of a cent).
Base “bundles” many transactions together (rollup) and posts them to Ethereum.
