Very real. A great way of understanding the Satan as a force is ā€œdesire to receive for the self alone.ā€ the more time you spend here the lower overall consciousness of your life. You can manifest the appearance of things w/ Satan but they have fear at the root level so still feel empty once obtained.

definitely support mental models that encourage independent thought & awareness. My hope is this lends itself to a societal objective function, as opposed to a short-term individual-level metric.

Interesting take. My two cents: People can become inherently evil, and not view themselves as such. Whether people ARE inherently evil depends on one’s definition of evil

@nick have you read the book ā€˜Human Kind’ from Rutger Bregman? I loved its positive perspective on human nature. ā€œHuman beings, we're taught, are by nature selfish and governed by self-interest. Humankind makes a new argument: that it is realistic, as well as revolutionary, to assume that people are good.

super interesting question to think about. I see it as: if you believe there are genuinely evil people out there, it implies an (evil) intention behind their actions. which implies they have full control over their actions. which ultimately implies free will. so the question becomes: do you believe in free will?

Some people are so fake, you’d need a whole team of forensic investigators to get to the bottom of it

One of my favorite scenes from blood diamond: ā€œMy heart always told me that people are inherently good. My experience suggests otherwise. But what about you, Mr. Archer… would you say that people are mostly good?ā€ ā€œNo. I’d say they’re just people.ā€

On this topic of good and evil I recommend, considering Plato, and The Goddess of Everything Else for further reflection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bbwp4PbWYzw

My mom used to always say... "The world can be an evil place... choose to do good and make it better"
