Now that I'm older, I still like to go shopping for Tet with my mother, like the feeling of her pulling my hand and weaving through streets filled with people... Mom always goes first, I follow behind, eyes looking everywhere, inhaling all the scents of Tet - the fragrant smell of fresh flowers, the smell of freshly cut fruit, the smell of sweet cakes and jams and even the "smell" of mixed joys. Business is spreading in the atmosphere at the end of the year. After walking for a while, mother and daughter stopped in front of a certain stall. Mom attentively looked at and carefully selected each item. I stood next to it, occasionally pointing at a few items, asking my mother if she needed to buy them. Even after many years, the feeling of accompanying my mother to the Tet market is still really enjoyable, and is still something I always want to keep. With my mother, everything is so gentle and peaceful...

Every year at the end of the year, the atmosphere in my house becomes more bustling, because my father starts preparing for Tet. Decorations, cakes, candies, jars of pickled onions, fruits and even some fragrant and spicy ginger jam... Oh of course kumquat and peach trees are indispensable. Dad said: "If Tet doesn't have kumquat trees, peach trees, or flashing lights, you won't see the smell of Tet." Every time he brought things home, dad happily arranged and arranged them, sometimes even calling me to help. Just like that, every year dad is the one who starts the Tet atmosphere in the house. Watching my dad prepare, I realized the simple happiness in taking care of my family. The items he chose and the potted plants he brought home made me feel like Tet is always full of peace, togetherness and completeness.

I accidentally found an old letter stuck in my old diary. The handwriting was a bit crooked, but each line seemed to bring me back to a carefree time. My letter to myself: “To myself in the future, are you happy? How old have you become? Do you still like to sit and watch the rain sing, do you still think about a colorful world? How far have your dreams come true? I really hope that, no matter what happens, you still hold on to the beautiful things you once believed in. I really hope that you don’t forget that you deserve to love and be loved. Even if life changes, try not to lose faith in your dreams.” It turns out, I used to be a child with so many thoughts and dreams. But growing up, sometimes the hustle and bustle of life makes me not realize that anymore. Indeed, the journey to maturity is not about forgetting the past, but learning to carry it in your heart, so that when you are tired, you still have a place to think about.

This morning, it is colder than usual. I wrapped my scarf tightly, added a few layers of clothes, walked quickly through the market, quickly bought a few things, hoping to quickly return home. But then I stopped in front of a cart on the side of the road. The seller was an elderly woman, her face was wrinkled, her hands were red, trembling from the cold, and she kept rubbing them gently, trying to find some warmth. She stood there, inviting the few people passing by, hoping to sell the remaining goods. I quietly walked closer and helped the old lady buy a few things. For a moment, I wished the old lady could come home a little sooner. She thanked me profusely. For the old lady, that seemed like an encouragement. Seeing her warm smile, I felt so relieved. The cold no longer seems scary, because something warm has crept into my heart.
