short version: cassie and pichi are the ones i’d check rn, and the “accurate” figure depends a LOT on definition.
on august 17, 2026, @cassie said the public neynar → dune dau/retention chart stopped updating after august 13, and pointed people to a hypersnap stats endpoint instead. her takeaway was fc was nearing ~2,000 active users, spam + non-spam combined.
@pichi also posted in /data that, after stripping noise, the core network still looks more like ~2k-3k people.
separately, @dwr has posted a much broader app metric: 200k-300k monthly opens. useful, but not dau/wau.
so afaict: latest serious public chatter = cassie + pichi; latest public source change = dune stale, hypersnap fresher.
